George Deane

In 1951 Reverend Whitehead compiled a list of the headstones then in the churchyard, this is one of those that has now disappeared.

Headstone was transcribed as "George DEANE died 10 April 1942 aged 54"

1939 Register living with a wife Julia in 4 Married Quarters, Pirbright Camp, occupation Range Warden

10 April 1942 killed by a ricochet bullet whilst working as a range warden at Bisley Camp, SRY

An inquest into his death is reported in the Surrey Advertiser on 17 April 1942
